Progress Report: July 25th

This is the head in the forward area down below, just aft of where the fire started. It was really nasty with black soot and heavy smoke damage. The walls have been scraped and cleaned, ready now for paint prep and Kilz primer. The counter was a dingy green but with a lot of elbow grease, scotch bright pads and GOJO, a beautiful powder blue counter has emerged! We thought the faucet was past saving but both it and the sink cleaned up really nice. These also were done with GOJO.
The shower door and stall took about 7 hours. The stall has some staining on the walls and will be painted in future. The toilet was really black but the bowl came out almost pristine. The seat and lid will also be painted in the future.
Under the counter has been scraped and vacuumed. It, along with two wall lockers have yet to be cleaned. The floor will be cleaned last. The goal is to finish cleaning this bathroom before our work trip is over.
The stairwell has a coat of Kilz primer and the top area will be covered with a sheet of door skin. The holes previously had lights in them but we will be covering these up. There is a lip just under the ledge of the locker where a light will be installed at a later date.

We have 3 working days left and will be heading back to Florida on the 30th.
